Enrollment - Famnit students

OBLIGATORY AND ELECTIVE COURSES 2023/2024top

In this section you can find information about the obligatory and elective courses (for undergraduate and Master's study programme) of the academic year 2023/24.

Students choose their elective courses in the enrollment paper in ŠIS, so please read all information carefully:

  • undergraduate study programmes,
  • Master's study programmes.

ADVANCEMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT IN THE NEXT STUDY YEARtop

Advancement requirements and requirements for repeating the year for each study programme are availabe at the description of each study programme (in the section Continuation of studies according to the transfer criteria).

Students who meet the advancement requirements will have an opened the enrollment paper (see Enrollment instructions).

YEAR PLUStop

Students that have submited the application for year plus with the enrollment paper in the 1st year, and if the student has obtained at the end of the current academic year a total of at least 30 credits (ECTS), of which at least 6 credits (ECTS) from knowledge Slovene language and 24 ECTS from the obligations of the 1st year, enables the extension of the status in the 1st year on the basis of the application for Year plus.

In order to use Year plus, the student has to infrom the Student Services via e-mail. A student will be informed via message about the opened enrollment paper and has to follow the enrollment instructions (LINK).

PRE-GRADUATION YEAR (ABSOLVENT)top

Students, enroled in the 3rd year of the study programme may enrol in the pre-graduation year if they did not repeat the year or change study programme.

Enrolment in the pre-graduation year it is possible only in the first academic year after 3rd year of the undergraduate study programme or only in the frst academic year after 2nd year of the master's study programme.

Students, who have the right to enrol for the pre-graduation year (absolvent) DO NOT SUBMIT any request. The enrollment paper is opened automatically, students are informed about opened enrollment paper via e-mail. A receipt for enrollment fee is sent to student's e-mail  (also available in SIS in the section My Data / My Financial Position).

IMPORTANT:
Students who DO NOT want to enrol for pre-graduation year do not have to fulfill the enrolment paper and do not have to pay enrolment fee. They will be enrolled as a pavzer from the 1st October on by the Student Services.

PAVZERtop

A pavzer is a student who:

- does not fulfill the advancement requirements for enrollment in the higher study year and has already repeated the year;
- does not want to enroll in the next academic year;
- has already used all possible enrollments.

Student who is a pavzer:

- does not have a student status,
- participating in a study obligations in a first year of being a pavzer is free of charge, while second year or more a student has to pay regarding the faculty's price list,
- does not fulfill the enrollment paper and does not pay the enrollment fee (or tuition fee).

A student, who want to be a pavzer in the next academic year, will be enrolled as a pavzer from 1st October on by the Student Servcies.

TUITION AND ENROLLMENT FEEStop

All students with a student status have to pay the enrollment fee, based on the faculty' price list.

A receipt for enrollment fee is sent to student's e-mail  (also available in SIS in the section My Data / My Financial Position).

IMPORTANT:
In accordance with the General terms and conditions of payment of tuition fee and fees at UP FAMNIT, a student cannot enroll in the next academic year until all his/hers faculty' financial obligations have been settled.

ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONStop

When an enrollment paper is opened, a student is informed via e-mail. Also a receipt for enrollment fee is sent to student's e-mail  (also available in SIS in the section My Data / My Financial Position).

In case a student does not fulfil the enrollment paper and submit all the attachments until the deadline (see Schedule of enrollment - figure), a student will be "enrolled" as a pavzer from the 1st October on by the Student Services (see Pavzer).

When the enrollment is completed by the Student Services, a student will be informed via e-mail. A student can print out the certificate of enrollment in SIS (section My data / Certificate of enrollment).

Enrollment procedure

  • An enrollment paper is available in student's SIS, section ENROLLMENT / Enrollment Paper.
  • A student has to check all the data (in case of any corrections, a student must enter them in the section NOTES FOR STUDENT SERVICES category – available after electronic signature of the enrollment paper).
  • In case there are elective courses needed in each study programme, a student has to choose between available ones (see Courses).
  • A student submits the enrollment paper by clicking the button Submit.
  • After submission a student signs the enrollment paper electronically by clicking on the Electronic Signature button.
  • A student enters an electronic signature using the mouse and confirms the signature by clicking the Enter Signature button.
  • After that a student must electronically sign General terms and conditions of payment of tuition fee and fees at UP FAMNIT by clicking Sign the General Terms button.
  • Enrollment's paper obligatory attachment in section ENROLLMENT / Annexes of Enrollment is:
    - certificate of payment of the enrollment fee.

REQUESTS FOR ENROLLMENTtop

All requests with the attachemnts and appeales are submitted via ŠIS. Requests for enrollment are available in SIS in accordance with the Schedule of enrollment (figure).

A student can choose between the following requests:
- (1) Enrollment in the higher year without all obligations
(request name in ŠIS Enrolment in the higher year of study without completed study obligations),
- (1)
extension of student status,
- (1) repeating the year (re-enrollment),
- (2) study language change and
- (2) parallel enrollment.

REQUEST SUBMISSION PROCEDURE AND OVERLOOK OF THE REQUESTS STATUS

  • When a student submit the request in ŠIS, a request has an in process status.
  • The request is firstly examined by the Student Services. In case there is anything missing, the Student Services inform the student to submit the missing documentation. In case a request is formally complete, a request has an accepted status. Also, a student is informed about the request status via e-mail.
  • When the request is examined by the competent body of the faculty, a request's status is changed in concluded. A student can check the justification of the decision in the ŠIS request, also in the requets's section Documents is available the final decision. A student is informed about the concluded request status via e-mail.
  • APPROVED REQUEST: students with approved request will be able to fulfil the enrolment paper (will be notified via e-mail),
  • DISAPPROVED REQUEST: students with disapproved request will be able to review a committee decision in ŠIS, also the decision will be send to home address.

Formally completed requests, submitted on time, will be examined by the Committee for Study and Student Affairs. Committee will NOT EXAMINE:

  • incomplete requests: incomplete request fulfilment or request without attachments, if needed (request for extension of the student status and request for enrolment in a higher study year without completed study obligations),
  • requests submitted after the deadline: request submitted after the deadline (check the deadline in the Schedule of enrollment - figure).

(1) Requets for enrollment in the higher year without all obligations, extension of the student status, repeating the yeartop

A student can submit only ONE of the following questions (request group: ENROLLMENT REQUESTS, click on the two arrows and choose the right request):

Exceptionally, a student may enroll in a higher year, even if he / she has not fulfilled all the obligations set out in the study program for enrollment in a higher year, when he / she has justified reasons, such as: maternity, illness, exceptional family and social circumstances, students with special needs, active participation in top professional, cultural and sports events, active participation at the University.

The student must submit an application in his / her ŠIS for enrollment in a higher year without completed study obligations. Under the justification, he briefly writes down why he did not complete his study obligations and why he wants to enrol in a higher study year.

Attachments: The application must be accompanied by relevant evidence showing the reasons given in the statement of reasons.

In accordance with the Higher Education Act (Article 70), a student may apply for an extension of student status during his / her studies, but for a maximum of one year and must therefore have justified reasons.

In order to extend his / her status in ŠIS, the student must submit an application for the extension of the student's status and state in the justification that he / she wants to extend the status and the reasons why he / she wants to extend the student's status.

Attachments: The application must be accompanied by relevant evidence showing the reasons given in the statement of reasons.

A student who has not completed all the obligations set out in the study program for enrollment in a higher year may, taking into account the provisions of the Higher Education Act, repeat the year once during their studies.

Requirements for repeating the year for each study programme are availabe at the description of each study programme (in the section Continuation of studies according to the transfer criteria).

A study programmes with the requirements for repeating the year:
- PMA, PRIN, PZ: a student may repeat a year once during his / her studies if he / she collects at least 18 ECTS of the enrolled year;
- VN, TGO: a student may repeat a year once during his / her studies if he / she achieves at least 24 credits of the enrolled year.

Attachments: Not required.

!! IMPORTANT!!
The Committee for Study and Student Affairs will automatically examine the next most favorable enrollment solutions for the student, in case the submitted requests is denied (see Requests organization chart).

A student can submit the request before he/she receives all the exam results. In case a student fulfills the advancement requirements afterwards, he/she withdraw the request for enrollment and must informs the Student Services about it.

EXAMPLE:
A student submits a request for enrollment in the higher year without all obligations and the request is denied by the Committee for Study and Student Affairs. The committee then examine the next favorable enrollment solution for the student, i.e. extension of the student status.
In case a student has the right to extend the status, he will have opened enrollment paper.
In case a student has no right to extend the student status, he will have an option to repeat the year (only in case he did not repeat the year or changed the study programme so far).
In case also this option in not available for the student, he will be a pavzer in the next academic year (see pavzer).

(2) Request for study language change and request for parallel enrollmenttop

A student submit in ŠIS:

A student who wants to change the study language of the enrolled study programme, he/she has to state in the justification the reasons for changing the study lanugage.

Attachments: Not required.

A request for parallel enrollment is submitted by the student, who wants to take a parallel study. A requirement for taking the parallel study is an average grade at least 8 and positively examined requet.
