Sead Jahić is a teaching assistant at University of Primorska, Department of Information Sciences and Technologies.
After receiving High School diploma, he went to University of Tuzla (UNTZ), where in 2012 he graduated as Mathematician (Math Teacher).
His first working experience was teaching assistant at UNTZ, in the field of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
The main topic of his research is Sentiment Analysis of languages, where the focus is on developing overall sentiment analysis for West Balkan languages from the same West Slavic group.
The idea is to use different Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques in sentiment analysis with those languages, and show huge connectivity between them.

POVZETEK:

In this seminar, we will present an introduction to creating a lexicon with weight values of words from our database. Given that the lexicon is made in such a way that the amount / number of positive and negative words affects the final outcome, we come to the conclusion that at some point, especially in neutral sentiment, we have words whose power can change the polarity of neutral to positive / negative. Therefore, when calculating sentiment, we relied on the weight lexicon created for a given amount of data.

NASLOV: Primerjava vnosa besedila v virtualnem okolju na različnih postavitvah tipkovnice

POVZETEK:

Vnos besedila je precej raziskano področje tako v realnem svetu kot tudi v virtualnem svetu. Raziskovalci preučujejo različne načine vnosa besedila bodisi tip vnosa bodisi vnos na različnih postavitvah tipkovnice.  V tem seminarju bomo predstavili področje tehnologije VR, pripravo virtualnega okolja, študijo, ki je potekala v okviru magistrskega dela  ter rezultate le-te. Cilj študije je bil preizkusiti različne postavitve tipkovnice in le-te primerjati s standardom QWERTZ. Testirali smo 4 različne postavitve tipkovnice, to so: QWERTZ, DVORAK, OPTI in CIRCLE. Na koncu bo potekala še krajša razprava o rezultatih in kakšna možna izboljšava oz. predlogi pri izvedbi nadaljnjih študij.

NASLOV: Revisiting AR Piano Projection

POVZETEK: 

For around 300 years, people have been learning to play the modern piano either with a teacher or by themselves. In recent years, teaching and learning have been enhanced using computer-based technologies to support novices during this process. In this seminar, we present the results of a recent systematic literature review that reveal enhancements using Augmented Reality (AR) in teaching the piano. Different modalities to support teaching and learning the piano were also explored using focus groups. This presentation involves findings in the early stages of a PhD thesis. The different phases and future work will also be discussed.

NASLOV: Distance based Clustering of Class Association Rules to Build a Compact, Accurate and Descriptive Classifier

POVZETEK:

In this research work, we propose new methods that are able to reduce the number of class association rules produced by “classical” class association rule classifiers, while maintaining an accurate classification model that is comparable to the ones generated by state-of-the-art classification algorithms. More precisely, we propose new associative classifiers, called DC, DDC and CDC, that use distance-based agglomerative hierarchical clustering as a post-processing step to reduce the number of its rules, and in the rule-selection step, we use different strategies (based on database coverage and cluster centers) for each algorithm.

NASLOV: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System for Subcontractors of Telekom Slovenije

POVZETEK:

Telekom Slovenije has many subcontractors supporting their infrastructure and installations. Those subcontractors are small and medium-size businesses who are using just email and a Microsoft Office package for their e-business. Because of that, they experience data loss, misunderstandings, human errors and non-optimal business. Based on previous research where business process analysis, ERP implementation technologies and methodologies were explored, this seminar aims to analyse business processes inside Telekom Slovenije subcontractor companies and to propose a conceptual model of ERP system that could fit and provide optimal business in the long run for such companies.

NASLOV: Determining sentiment of tweets using first Bosnian lexicon and  (AnA)-affirmative and non-affirmative words

POVZETEK:

The talk will present a simple model for sentiment tagging of Tweeter messages based on AnA (affirmative and non-affirmative) words and tagged sentiment dictionary (Kadunc-Šikonja dictionary).
Lexicon was used in combination with intensifiers, where intensifier (AnA word), that stand next to the word, produce more powerful (more positive or more negative) sentiment value of word - tweet at all.
This also presents our first step in creating the first Bosnian lexicon and proceed the same on Sentiment analysis of tweets written in Bosnian where the major topic will be tweeting about Bosnian National basketball player Džanan Musa.

NASLOV: Naivni Bayes in umetna konvolucijska nevronska mreža za identifikacijo padcev s pomočjo pametnih tal

POVZETEK: 

Padci so pri starostnikih pogosti pojav in veljajo za vodilni vzrok poškodb oseb nad 65 letom starosti. Tretjina oseb nad 65 letom in polovica oseb nad 85 letom starosti doživi vsaj en padec letno. Pri tem se tudi verjetnost hude poškodbe viša z letom starosti in ob padcu je treba nemudoma nuditi pomoč osebi.
Da lahko nudimo takojšnjo pomoč, je potrebno v čim krajšem času zaznati padec, ampak v nekaterih primerih se oseba tako hudo poškoduje, da ne utegne klicati na pomoč in padec je prepozno opažen ter oseba doživi dodatne poškodbe zaradi dodatnega časa.
Na seminarju bo predstavljen sistem za identifikacijo padcev osnovan na prototipu tal z vgrajenimi senzorji pritiska. Predstavili bomo proces zbiranja podatkov, podatke in postopek pred obdelave podatkov, uvedena bo metoda Naivnega Bayesa in umetne konvolucijske nevronske mreže ter na koncu bo predstavljena evalvacija modelov in rezultati.

NASLOV: Pinhole Paper: Making Static Objects Perceptually Dynamic with Rear Projection on Perforated Paper

POVZETEK:

We explore paper augmentation technique where a tablet computer is placed bellow the paper to modify its content appearance and create the illusion of making static object perceptually dynamic. Our approach is based on Deformation Lamps (DL) technique applied to rear projection (instead of commonly used front projection), which removes the need for fix setups or handling and wearing dedicated hardware. The key challenge is to ensure appropriate mixing of light reflecting from the paper (e.g. what is printed on the paper) and the light that is coming though the paper (e.g. tablet screen). This is particularly the case as a relatively weak light source of a tablet screen is being used. We address this through modification of optical properties of paper with perforation and a new method for generating dynamic luminance imaging which successful make static object perceptually dynamic. The outcomes provide a guide to how paper needs to be modified in order to achieve the illusion of making static object perceptually dynamic.

The presenter is going to talk about a technological approach to help slow the spread of SARS-COV-2 by simplifying and accelerating the process of notifying people who might have been exposed to the virus while preserving their privacy.
Key to end, control the spread in an epidemic is rapid identification and quarantine of the infected individuals, determination of whom they have had close contact within the previous days and decontamination of locations the infected individual has visited.
This process is labour intensive, susceptible to memory errors, and fraught with privacy concerns. But the main advantage in this era is the availability of smart-phones, mobile devices, and with the right technology we can overcome above difficulties and track down infected individuals in a much productive way.

Huge amounts of data are being collected and analyzed nowadays. By using the popular rule-learning algorithms, the number of rules discovered on those big datasets can easily exceed thousands of rules. To produce compact and accurate classifiers, such rules have to be grouped and pruned, so that only a reasonable number of them are presented to the end user for inspection and further analysis. To solve this problem researchers have proposed several associative classification approaches that combine two important data mining techniques, namely, classification and association rule mining.

In this research, we propose a new method that is able to reduce the number of class association rules produced by classical class association rule classifiers, while maintaining an accurate classification model that is comparable to the ones generated by state-of-the-art classification algorithms. More precisely, we propose a new associative classifier – CMAC, that uses agglomerative hierarchical clustering as a post-processing step to reduce the number of its rules.

We live in an era where our society remains to be heavily dependent on paper. The simplicity, sensory richness and versatility enabled the paper to maintain its importance in this digital age. However despite these obvious advantages of paper our lives are becoming more and more digital. This introduces a need for new solutions that will integrate digital technology with paper whilst maintaining its unique aforementioned properties. This talk presents the findings of a study of rear projection and back print illumination using paper as screen material.

NASLOV: User-centric multimedia characteristics: A Survey
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The properties of multimedia content are usually represented as content-centered metadata, such as type (e.g. video, audio, text, etc.), duration, resolution, etc. However, in user-centric applications, such as personalized recommender systems, it makes more sense to describe multimedia items with user-centric meta-data, such as genre, emotions, etc. For example, a recommender system would make a better job of explaining recommendations in the form of "You have been recommended this film because you liked comedies" than "You have been recommended this film because you liked 1:30 long films". The problem of such a characterization is that it usually requires humans to annotate with user-centric metadata, which is expensive. Hence,  research efforts have been made to develop automatic methods for mapping multimedia content to user-centric item characteristics.
In this presentation, I present some of the state-of-the-art studies in studying automatic approaches for predicting user-centric characteristics of multimedia contents and some raw ideas of future work.

ABSTRACT: 

A network consists of a graph and additional data on (properties of) nodes and/or links.
In some applications, the values of properties can be structured objects such us intervals, compositions, sets of keywords, temporal quantities, etc. Standard network description formats do not support such kinds of networks. 
We propose a JSON based format NetsJSON as a general network description option. It is supported in Python by a network analysis library Nets. The NetsJSON descriptions can be used as input data for network visualizations based on D3.js.

POVZETEK:

In wood supply chain environments, stakeholders need full traceability of individual products, and at the same time, they need protection from disclosure of their global activity. Existing solutions rely on centralized system to manage privacy-sensitive data and suffer from single point of failure, lack of trust, and performance issues. Distributed ledger technology ensures data security, however, user-sensitive information remains publicly available, which leads to privacy issues. In our research, we explore how to protect sensitive information over distributed ledger technology while providing product traceability through the supply chain.
In this presentation, we will illustrate our research problem with a use case scenario inspired from a wood supply chain. Then, we will give a brief overview of the state of the art, before describing open issues and discussing possible solutions that we are currently exploring.

András Bóta finished his postgraduate studies in Computer Science at the University of Szeged under the supervision of Dr. Miklós Krész and Dr. András Pluhár in 2015, then worked as a Research Associate at the University of New South Wales with Dr. Lauren Gardner for two years. Following that, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Umeå University. His main research interests lie in the fields of complex network analysis and artificial intelligence.

NASLOV: Network-based framework for estimating the risk factors of epidemic spreading

POVZETEK:

Network-based adaptations of traditional compartmental infection models such as SIR or SEIR can be used to model the spreading of diseases between cities, countries or other geographical regions. One of the common challenges arising in these applications is the lack of available transmission probabilities between these geographical units. The task of inverse infection is the systematic estimation of these values. Several methods have been proposed recently for solving this task. One of them is the Generalized Inverse Infection Model (GIIM) [1]. GIIM offers a large amount of modeling flexibility and allows transmission probabilities to be defined as a function of known attributes, or risk factors in an epidemic context. In this presentation we will see how GIIM works in two specific real-life outbreaks.
Both examples are embedded in a geographical and temporal setting. The first one considers the 2015-2016 Zika virus outbreak in the Americas, where the countries and overseas territories of the continent form the nodes of the network and air travel routes define the links [2]. The second application models the 2009 H1N1 outbreak between the municipalities of Sweden, with links between the municipalities indicating frequent travel routes.
Our first goal in both of these studies is to discover the relationship between the transmission risk between geographical units and a variety of travel, environmental, meteorological and socioeconomic risk factors. Our second goal is to estimate the risk of exportation and importation of the diseases for the territories involved in these studies. We will show that the GIIM model is able to identify the most critical risk factors in both scenarios, and in the influenza study, it is able make predictions about future outbreaks with good accuracy.

NASLOV: Using EEG for Emotion Experience Design in TV Commercials

POVZETEK: 

TV Commercials are audio video segments played by paying advertisers in between the consumers' favorite shows. They are usually aired for marketing purposes especially towards selling specific products or services. In the process of creating TV Commercials, marketers, digital agencies undergo a rigorous process to validate various elements in the said audio video production. This process is usually tedious and time consuming. This report aims to present results of preliminary study that uses Electroencephalogram (EEG) as input in helping production team verify their marketing content. Target consumers for a specific commercial product underwent one-on-one semi-structured interviews and from viewing sessions where their EEG data were collected using the 5-channel EMOTIV Insight headset. To triangulate the emotion modeling phase, external observers referred to as coders annotated their emotions with the aid of emotion recognition via facial recognition. Initial Analysis of the interviews along with the early version of the model revealed several interesting points on visual and audio elements that triggered viewer valence. The collection of EEG data was also able to uncover a few insights that aided in the design of a better viewing experience for the target consumers. We intend to expand the findings in the future work to build a model from a bigger data and user base along with a wider array of emotions to choose from. Also, we intend to employ more advanced experiment designs to determine if we can directly correlate viewer experiences into actual product and commercial conversion.

PREDAVATELJ: dr. Aleš MAVER

Dr. Aleš Maver has been working in the field of human genetics since 2002, and in his work he focuses on research of complex diseases, bioinformatics and diagnostics of rare genetic disorders. After graduating from medical school in 2011, he continued with his PhD work on rare genetic variations in familial multiple sclerosis using sequence analysis of the complete set of genes in the human genome (exome sequencing). Since then, he's been dealing with the use of big genomic data to diagnose patients with rare diseases. To that end, in 2013, he participated in the establishment of the Centre for Mendelian Genomics, which now functions as a center that offers state-of-the-art technology and bioinformatics to diagnose genetic diseases and is involved in global genome-wide sequencing data initiatives. Today his main interests include identifying new genes for genetic diseases, improving the interpretation of genetic variants at the genomic level and improving the exchange of genomic data in Slovenia and Europe.

POVZETEK:

New genomic technologies have, in the recent years, provided unimaginable opportunities for human genome investigations, and thus significant advances in disease diagnosis and the discovery of new genes and disease mechanisms. With new approaches, especially through next-generation sequencing, sequencing of the entire human genome has become significantly cheaper, faster and more accessible. At the same time, we require novel bioinformatic approaches and significantly greater computational capacity to process the large amounts of data generated using novel genetic technologies. In my talk, I would like to present how we are facing the new challenges of big data in the time of genomic medicine, how we use big data of genomic sequencing in the discovery of new genes for human hereditary diseases, and how the analysis of such data has become the basis of modern genetic diagnostics in Slovenia today.

iOtok is an interactive web documentary directed by Miha Čelar, a Slovene documentary filmmaker. The documentary was distributed over 13 weeks in Slovenia and Croatia. Data were collected to better understand how people interacted and engaged with the documentary: Was interactivity efficient in engaging users? Were the social media successful in promoting the web-doc? In this seminar, we will present the key findings of the analysis of 20 000 sessions in terms of audience reception and user engagement.

In this seminar, we will present the COST action Parenchima and the activities related to the forthcoming meeting of its workgroup 2(WG2) that will take place in Koper on 3-4 March. NASLOV: Decentralized computation of homology in wireless sensor networks using spanning trees

POVZETEK:

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are computer networks of small inexpensive sensor nodes with a limited computational power and often without positioning capabilities. They are deployed over an area of interest to perform some measuring tasks and communicate the results. When deployed arbitrarily, the information on signal coverage is crucial to asses the quality of deployment. A homological criteria has been proposed to guarantee a full coverage using only the connectivity data.
In this seminar I will present our decentralized algorithm to verify homology-based WSN coverage criteria. Individual nodes examine the homology of their immediate neighborhood. They organize themselves in a spanning tree formation and merge their local information up the tree. During the process, a simplicial complex known as Vietoris-Rips complex is constructed, which encodes certain information on the shape of the WSN coverage. The algorithm works in arbitrary network topology and its communication demands are suitable for low-bandwidth wireless sensor networks.

NASLOV: Investigating the impact of different techniques towards project users themselves in a new environment using their cognitive, emotional and actionable responses

POVZETEK: 

This study is mainly focused on investigating how the different techniques which architects would use to convey their ideas of architectural designs (new building) enable future occupants/users to project themselves in their new building.
To do that, we compare three different presentation techniques:
- Floor plans (paper-based) with 3D rendered still images of the building
- Standard desktop/mouse setup showing the 3D designed environment of the building
- HMD display showing the immersive virtual environment of the building
The reason behind this evaluation is to compare current practices/conventional method (Floor plans with 3D rendered still images) vs methods that could be widespread in the near future (Desktop and HMD). These innovative techniques may have some benefits, notably by triggering a higher sense of presence. But we need to be sure that they enable future occupants/users to understand their new building and that they also enable them to project themselves in their new space.

POVZETEK:

Recommender systems are systems that help users in decision making situations where there is an abundance of choices. We can find them in our everyday lives, for example in online shops. State-of-the-art research  in recommender systems has shown the benefits of behavioural modeling. Behavioural modeling means that we use past ratings, purchases, clicks etc. to model the user preferences. However, behavioural modeling is not able to capture certain aspects of the user preferences. In this talk I will show how the usage of complementary research in cognitive models, such as personality and emotions, can benefit recommender systems.

Raffaele De Amicis is an Associate Professor, at the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Oregon State University. He received his Ph.D. in Design and Methods of Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bologna, Italy. From 1999 to 2003, he was a research fellow at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics in Darmstadt, Germany and senior researcher at the at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Before arriving at Oregon State University, he was the Managing Director of GraphiTech, Center for Advanced Computer Graphics Technologies in Trento, Italy, where he was recognized for leadership in science, technology, and innovation. Dr. De Amicis’ research focuses on the possibilities provided by Mixed Reality technologies in the area of design, creativity, and analytics. He has managed and delivered complex research projects, applied immature technologies, and mitigate associated risks. He has been the PI of several multidisciplinary projects contracted or funded by the European Commission, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, governmental agencies and industry with an overall budget of 47 million Euros. As Vice-President of the Board of Directors at GraphicsMedia.net, Dr. De Amicis has developed strong competencies in how to build and manage successful multinational organizations. In this context, he has established strong linkages to diverse Academic and Research Institutes, both at the national and international level. During his career, he has developed strong academic outreach and collaborations with leading universities, industry, and community partners.

NASLOV: Human Centric Immersive Environments. Challenges and perspectives.

POVZETEK:

Over the last few years, disciplines such as Virtual & Augmented Reality, Computer Aided Design, and Human Factors, have undergone a profound evolution essentially driven by ever-increasing computational power and by availability of new hardware and software technologies.  Arbitrary shaped non‐flat displays, portable augmented reality glasses, micro-projection units, portable marker-less gesture tracking systems, increasingly accurate biometric sensors, and brain-machine interfaces are becoming commodities. Previously, these technologies, were only available in “Big” research labs, but are now entering the mainstream market causing a profound paradigm shift for the general public level. This means not only adapting old interaction schemas but it will call for the development of brand new interaction mechanisms that can account for complex technological ecosystem issues.
In his talk, Dr. De Amicis will present his research on how users perceive, understand, and interact with real and digital objects during an immersive experience. First, he will discuss some of the results achieved concerning the design of a multimodal experience combining sketches, gestures, and speech, to accomplish design tasks in different contexts, ranging from lightweight near-to-the-eye displays, to large-scale displays and immersive environments. He will also present his research on the design of geo-intelligent complex visualization systems and products and related services, addressing aspects such as interactive spatial data infrastructure, context awareness, and highly dynamic interaction. The second part of his talk will be devoted, to describing his current and future research plan on how Mixed Reality, allows the interaction with hybrid space with varying degrees of interaction allowing the user to enter a highly effective information environment which heightens data awareness and understanding.

Nevena Pivač is a student of two study programs: MSc in Computer Science and PhD in Mathematics, at UP FAMNIT. She is doing PhD under the supervision of full professor Martin Milanič and is employed as a young researcher at Institute Andrej Marušič. Her research topics include structural and algorithmic graph theory, combinatorial optimization, and mathematical modeling using integer linear programing.

NASLOV: On the Graph Search Trees
--------------------------------------------------

POVZETEK:

Graph searches and the corresponding search trees can exhibit important structural properties and are used in various graph algorithms. We present various graph search algorithms, such as breadth first search (BFS), depth first search (DFS), their lexicographic versions (LBFS, LDFS), maximal neighborhood search (MNS) and maximum cardinality search (MCS). The problem of deciding whether a given spanning tree of a graph is a search tree of a particular search on this graph was introduced by Hagerup and Nowak in 1985, and independently by Korach and Ostfeld in 1989 where the authors showed that this problem is efficiently solvable for DFS trees. We show that the search tree problem is polynomial-time solvable for LDFS, in contrast to LBFS, MCS, and MNS, where we show the NP-completeness.

Vlado Stankovski, PhD, is associate professor at the University of Ljubljana. He has over 15 years experience with Grid and Cloud Computing, Distributed Systems, Semantics, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, and Data Mining technologies. His current interests are in Blockchain applications in these domains. He began his career in 1995 as Consultant and later as Project Manager with the Fujitsu-ICL Corporation in Prague. From 1999-2003 he worked as a researcher at the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana. From 2003 he is employed at UL. Dr. Stankovski has experience in software integration, and has worked with various middleware technologies in the course of the past 10+ years. He has been involved in various EU projects including the FP6 DataMiningGrid project (2004-2006), InteliGrid (2004-2007), FP7 mOSAIC (2011-2013), H2020 SWITCH (2015-2018), H2020 ENTICE (2015-2018) and currently the DECENTER (2019-2021) project. At the moment, he also contributes to the Software Engineering cluster of Horizon 2020 projects.

NASLOV: Fog Computing for Smart Services and Applications

The quadrumvirate technologies – Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud and Blockchain are currently converging with the aim to facilitate numerous new smart services and applications. They are the substrate of Fog computing. Fog computing is an architecture that uses edge devices to carry out a substantial amount of computation, storage, communication locally and thus addresses the requirements of Big Data pipelines, which start at the Edge of the computing network and may run across multiple computing tiers up to various public or private Cloud providers. With Big Data pipelines implemented by means of Fog computing it is increasingly possible to realise dependable smart environments. As its application potential is vast, the industrial interest is immense. The DECENTER (https://www.decenter-project.eu/) EU-Korean project currently develops a new Fog Computing platform that will support various smart applications. The talk will focus on the use cases, design and architecture of DECENTER.

Jan Včelák, Ing., PhD,  in period 2014–2019 department head in CTU – University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings, department for monitoring and intelligent control. He is a lecturer in CTU – subjects Data Acquisition and Transfer BE3M38SPD. His expertise is mainly in sensor networks design including IoT and WSN, sensor design for special purposes, and complex sensor systems covering data acquisition, transmission, processing and presentation. As a postdoc researcher, he was a team leader in microsystems group in Tyndall NI (Cork, Ireland).
His tasks at CTU are mainly in coordination of R&D activities and project management. He is a coordinator of several research projects in the field of IoT sensor design, renewable energy sources, energy storage as well as microgrid design. He is author of several impacted publications, patents and utility models in Czech Republic as well as in USA. In the field of SmartCity his focus is in micro grids, renewable energy sources usage and electromobility integration in buildings energy systems.

I will describe my beginnings, why I chose this path, why I've started a green starup and how I came up with the idea of ecological dry toilets. I will further explain how to start a company, what can happen in an entrepreneurial way, how to get finances, etc. Finally, I will describe where I coworkers with different students for research and development. I used varied programs as the company has already used Demola, Erasmus Student Practices and PKP. I will present with simple words how to develop environmentally friendly products with sustainable value. Students will learn how to start a low risk startup with their idea, and how to bring that idea to market.

PREDAVATELJICA: Kim BINSTED

Kim Binsted received her BSc in Physics at McGill (1991), and her PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh (1996). Her thesis topic was the computational modeling and generation of punning riddles, and her program, JAPE (Joke Analysis and Production Engine), generated puns such as "What do you call a Martian who drinks beer? An ale-ien!" She then went to Japan, where she conducted research at Sony's Computer Science Laboratories on human-computer interfaces, and then started a company, I-Chara KK, which developed social software agents for mobile phones. In 2002, she joined the faculty of the Information and Computer Sciences Department at the University of Hawaii, where she does research on artificial intelligence, human-computer interfaces, and long-duration human space exploration. In 2015, she received a MS in Planetary Geology, for attempting to characterize the deuterium-hydrogen ratio in the primitive Earth mantle.
Kim is a co-investigator at the UH-NASA Astrobiology Institute, which formed in late 2003. She was a NASA Summer Faculty Fellow at Ames Research Center in 2003 and 2004, where she worked on sub-vocal speech recognition technology in the Neuroengineering Lab. She was Chief Scientist on the FMARS 2007 Long Duration Mission, a four-month Mars exploration analogue on Devon Island in the Canadian High Arctic. In 2009, she spent her sabbatical as a visiting scientist at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), working on the CSA's planetary analogues program. She spent the summers of 2016 and 2017 in Russia on a Fulbright Award. She is now the principal investigator for the NASA-funded HI-SEAS (Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation) program, which conducts long-duration space exploration simulations at an isolated habitat on Mauna Loa. She is currently serving as an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in Senator Whitehouse's office in Washington, DC.

Veljko Pejović is an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. His interests include mobile computing, HCI, resource-efficient computing, and the interaction of technology and society. His work on modelling user movement and communication behaviour from mobile call records won the 2013 Orange D4D Challenge, while his work on interruptibility modelling resulted in the best paper nomination at the ACM UbiComp'14 conference.

NASLOV: Cognitive Load Inference for Ubiquitous Computing Adaptation

From not disturbing a focused programmer, to entertaining a restless commuter waiting for a train, personal ubiquitous computing devices could greatly enhance their interaction with humans, should they only be aware of the user’s cognitive load. While mobile sensing and machine learning lead to impressive advances in the inference of human movement, physical activity, routines, and other behavioural aspects, inferring cognitive load remains challenging due to a subtle manifestation of a user's mental engagement via vital signal reactions. These signals are often captured with obtrusive, expensive, purpose-built equipment, preventing seamless cognitive load inference for human - ubiquitous computing interaction adaptation. In our work we aim to enable large-scale unobtrusive cognitive load inference. In the talk I will present our experiences from different user studies in which we built and evaluated cognitive load inference models relying on data coming from a commodity smart phone, a wearable sensing device, and a software-defined-radio-based wireless radar. Finally, I will present our guidelines for future efforts in cognitive load inference and argue for closer interdisciplinary collaboration in this exciting research domain.

Sead Jahić studied mathematics in Tuzla, and graduated in 2012. From 2012 to 2016 he was teaching assistant at the University of Tuzla in the field of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. In the past academic year (2018/2019) he was teaching assistant at UP FAMNIT, where he taught the courses Programming 1, Programming 3 and Language Technologies for 3rd year students of the bachelor program. He is also a PhD student in Computer Science on the same University and his research is in the fields of Sentiment Analysis and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

NASLOV: Determining sentiment of tweets using lexicon and (AnA)-affirmative and non-affirmative words

On the seminar a simple model for sentiment tagging of Tweeter messages based on AnA (affirmative and non-affirmative) words and tagged sentiment dictionary (Kadunc-Šikonja dictionary) will be presented. A lexicon was used in combination with intensifiers, where an intensifier (AnA word), that stands next to a word, produces more powerful (more positive or more negative) sentiment values for that word - tweet at all.

NASLOV: How overall coverage of an association rule learning classifier affects its accuracy?

Classification and association rule are two important technologies in data mining. Researchers have recently proposed several classification techniques based on the concept of association rules (also known as CBA-based methods). Experimental results show that in average the CBA-based approaches could achieve higher accuracy than some of traditional classification methods. Associative classification (AC) is a data mining approach that combines classification and association rule to build classification models (classifiers).
In this seminar, we will present associative classification, where class association rules are generated and analyzed to build a simple, compact, understandable and relatively accurate classifier. Furthermore, we find the overall coverage and average rule coverage of the classifier that affects its the accuracy. We compare the accuracies our method that uses constrained exhaustive search with that of some “classical” classification rule learning algorithms that use greedy heuristic search on some “real-life” datasets. We have performed experiments on 11 datasets from UCI Machine Learning Database Repository. Overall coverage shows the power of the classifier. Experimental evaluations show that our proposed method outperforms Naive Bayes and C4.5 on average accuracy.

NASLOV: Learning causal patterns in people mobility behaviour

The work done on the OPTIMUM project will be presented on this seminar. The aim of the OPTIMUM project was to implement a smart multi-modal transit concept, involving up to 500 users in the greater regions of Vienna (AUT), Birmingham (UK) and Ljubljana (SI). The integration of various real-time traffic data sources will provide the required information to realize traffic-state aware routing and guiding the travelers towards their destination. Members of the traffic receive proactive recommendations for personalized trip and re-routing based on their personal plans, traffic information and historical data, city authorities receive predicted traffic enabling to dynamically plan and respond. Various tasks towards reaching the project goal will be presented, namely "predicting users’ mobility", "transportation mode detection", "visualizing mobility patterns", and especially "identifying events and causal patterns in mobility data".

Dr. Hirokazu Kato received Dr. Eng. degrees from Osaka University, Japan in 1996.
He has worked for Osaka University and Hiroshima City University and since 2007 he has been working for Nara Institute of Science and Technology.
Dr. Kato has studied about Augmented Reality for more than 15 years.
He developed a vision-based tracking library called the ARToolKit in 1999 which has had a significant impact on the growth of Augmented Reality research.
Dr. Kato received Virtual Reality Technical Achievement Award from IEEE VGTC in 2009 and Lasting Impact Award at the 11th IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality in 2012.

NASLOV: What is the next stage of Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) has been studied for more than 20 years. Nowadays we can see a lot of AR applications such as PokemonGO. Some people think that AR technologies are almost completed and it has moved to a practical phase. But it is not true because current AR applications are not ideal style of AR. AR researchers still have to make the next breakthrough. In this talk, I would like to introduce my past works on AR and then explain my idea about what AR researchers have to do for the next breakthrough. After that I will briefly talk about my current research works which I am expecting to make the next breakthrough for AR.

NASLOV: The process of strategic planning

This lecture is integral part of the PKP IoT Kakis project as transfer of knowledge. The lecture is about business strategic planing, focusing on SWOT and its new-fashioned counterparts: SOAR and PEST analysis. SWOT is a self-questioning analysis that helps firms to identify their strengths and weaknesses. It is also used to spot possible opportunities and potential threats from the environment and its competitors. This lecture focuses on the possibilities of improvement of the strategic management with emphasis on most common mistakes. Moreover, modern trends in strategic planning promote that SWOT should go hand in hand with SOAR and PEST analysis. SOAR is a strategic planning framework that helps firms focus on current strengths and opportunities and create a vision for future aspirations. On the other hand, PEST is an analytical framework for understanding external factors that influence a firm's business.

The fact that they intersect provides us with the convenience to formalize problems in one of them using the language of the others. NASLOV: A Blockchain Based Edge Computing Architecture for the Internet of Things

Edge computing has been gaining momentum in the context of the Internet of Things due to its advantages such as low bandwidth utilization, responsiveness, scalability and privacy preservation. However, typical edge computing approaches still rely on centralized solutions like Kubernetes to orchestrate application execution. This design choice introduces a single point of failure that makes the network vulnerable and introduces other limitations.
On this seminar, the presenter will describe some experiments to evaluate the performance of a decentralized consensus-based algorithm combined with a shared data structure over a distributed network of sensors deployed in a cultural heritage building.
The proposed implementation shows that the architecture, albeit simplified, is feasible. This indicates research directions towards designing better migration algorithms, optimizing shared data synchronization, privacy preservation, and ultimately solving data locality problems.

NASLOV 1. PREDAVANJA: Proizvodni informacijski sistemi z vidika pretoka podatkov

Jan Bratina je študent magistrskega študijskega programa Računalništvo in informatika na UP FAMNIT in bo na seminarju predstavil svoje delo v okviru predmeta Raziskovalni seminar.

POVZETEK

V trenutnem razvoju industrije igrajo veliko vlogo prav proizvodni informacijski sistemi. Namen tega članka je predstavitev proizvodnih informacijskih sistemov in razumevanje njihovih vlog. Predvsem je pomembno razumevanje pretoka podatkov med sistemi, zato je predstavljena tudi implementacija SCADA sistema na določeno proizvodno linijo. Pri predstavitvi te implementacije največ pozornosti posvetimo prav pretoku informacij med PLC krmilniki ter SCADA sistemom in kasnejšemu prenosu teh informacij na višji nivo, kjer jih obdela MES sistem. Ampak SCADA sistem ne obsega samo komunikacije s PLC krmilniki, zato so predstavljene tudi funkcionalne in nefunkcionalne zahteve za implementacijo SCADA sistema. Nato bo predstavljen še uporabniški vmesnik in natančen potek komunikacije SCADA sistema s PLC krmilnikom.

NASLOV 2. PREDAVANJA: SCADA sistemi -- implementacija in možnosti uporabe

Anej Marušič je študent magistrskega študijskega programa Računalništvo in informatika na UP FAMNIT in bo na seminarju predstavil svoje delo v okviru predmeta Raziskovalni seminar.

POVZETEK

Namen seminarja je podrobneje spoznati SCADA sistem. To smo naredili najprej z navedbo in kratko raziskavo, zakaj pride do potreb za uporabo SCADA sistema. V pregledu področja smo se nato posvetili nekaterim možnostim za implementacijo takega sistema ter ugotavljali njihove prednosti in slabosti. Naposled smo izbrali eno od možnosti, s katero smo SCADA sistem implementirali. Implementacija SCADA sistema s pomočjo programskega orodja Ignition nam omogoči globlje razumevanje SCADA sistemov in njihove izgradnje, prav tako pa tudi izgradnje sistema na splošno in integracije sistema v okolje v podjetju.

NASLOV: Immersive Virtual Reality Experiences

The first step in immersive VR research is creating a virtual world. VR environment design and functionality varies a lot depending on the project type and what we want to achieve. If we're planning a browsing study looking at visual strategies, it would be sufficient to create 360-degree content with the stimuli. If we want to learn how users interact with the stimuli and navigate within the scenario, then 3D environments are more suitable. They allow more flexibility and control over the environment, which enables to create any type of situation and alternatives. At the same time, novel technologies such as eye tracking can be incorporated with VR environments to achieve several additional goals. Eye tracking in VR reveals what is behind an individual's subconscious reactions and behaviors when interacting with objects and environments, all while leveraging the full control and flexibility of virtual worlds. When working with eye tracking in VR, we are able to leverage the benefits of both technologies. VR allows us to create any type of simulated environment, where visual stimuli and scenarios can be quickly switched or easily repeated, while eye tracking gives you insights into where the participant's visual attention is at each moment of the experience and what visual elements trigger certain responses and behaviors. Eye tracking can also enhance VR experiences. By enabling more natural interactions through gaze, eye tracking contributes to more immersive and user-friendly experiences in VR.

TITLE: On Applying Surrogates in Evolutionary (Multi-Objective) Optimisation

ABSTRACT:
The presentation will start with a short introduction to evolutionary algorithms (EA) and the concepts of Pareto-based multi-objective optimisation that are often applied in EA. The industrial applicability of EA is often said to be limited by the runtime of the algorithm, which itself is heavily depending on the time spent for single fitness function evaluations. For this scenario, the method of learning and incorporating surrogate models became a state-of-the-art during the last decade. To introduce surrogate-assisted EA, we first focus on different modelling techniques that were applied frequently. After that, we look at different techniques on how to integrate surrogates into EA and discuss typical problems arising when implementing these in real-world optimisation tasks. The talk will conclude with a discussion of open issues.

BIO:
Boris Naujoks is a professor for Applied Mathematics at TH Köln - Cologne University of Applied Sciences (CUAS). He joined CUAs after he received his PhD from Dortmund Technical University. During his time in Dortmund, in the group of Hans-Paul Schwefel, Boris worked as a research assistant in different projects and, additionally, gained industrial experience working for different SMEs. Meanwhile, he enjoys the combination of teaching mathematics as well as computer science and exploring EC and CI techniques at the Campus Gummersbach of CUAS. He focuses on multi-objective (evolutionary) optimisation, the integration of surrogates, and the (industrial) applicability of the explored methods.

The Web of Things holds the promise of a decentralized application platform where Web languages and protocols seamlessly enable interaction within and between cyber-physical systems. However, despite ongoing progress on automating machine-to-machine communication, providing Web-based applications that combine heterogeneous connected objects remains an open problem.
In this seminar, we will give an overview of today's challenges to build the Web of Things, before presenting some contributions related to the need for interoperability and privacy.
We will introduce the ASAWoO project (http://liris.cnrs.fr/asawoo/) that provides an avatar-based software architecture for connected objects.
From these contributions, we will suggest and discuss research perspectives to build the essential link between connected objects and the Web.

NASLOV: Ubiquitous User Interfaces

POVZETEK:
Displays are all around us, on and around our body, fixed and mobile, bleeding into the very fabric of our day to day lives. Displays come in many forms such as smart watches, head-mounted displays or tablets and fixed, mobile, ambient and public displays. However, we know more about the displays connected to our devices than they know about us. Displays and the devices they are connected to are largely ignorant of the context in which they sit including knowing physiological, environmental and computational state. They don't know about the physiological differences between people, the environments they are being used in, if they are being used by one or more persons.

In this talk I review a number of aspects of displays in terms of how we can model, measure, predict and adapt how people can use displays in a myriad of settings. With modeling we seek to represent the physiological differences between people and use the models to adapt and personalize designs, user interfaces. With measurement and prediction we seek to employ various computer vision and depth sensing techniques to better understand how displays are used. And with adaptation we aim to explore subtle techniques and means to support diverging input and output fidelities of display devices. This talk draws on a number of studies from work published in UIST, CHI, MobileHCI, IUI, AVI and UMAP.

Bio:
Professor Aaron Quigley is the Chair of Human Computer Interaction in the School of Computer Science at the University of St Andrews, UK. He is visiting the University of Primorska until March 24th. Aaron is the ACM SIGCHI Vice President for Conferences (and former ACM SIGCHI Adjunct Chair for Specialised Conferences). Aaron's research interests include surface and multi-display computing, human computer interaction, pervasive and ubiquitous computing and information visualisation. He has published over 160 internationally peer-reviewed publications including edited volumes, journal papers, book chapters, conference and workshop papers and holds 3 patents. In addition he has served on over 80 program committees and has been involved in chairing roles of over 20 international conferences and workshops including UIST, ITS, CHI, Pervasive, UbiComp, Tabletop, LoCA, UM, I-HCI, BCS HCI and MobileHCI.

Naslov: Sistem za podporo gasilcem na intervenciji

Povzetek:

Gasilska služba potrebuje za svoje učinkovito delovanje množico različnih informacij. Pomembno je, da so te informacije aktualne ter hitro dostopne in ne zakopane v arhivih gasilske postaje ali javnih služb. V našem produktu smo uredili in združili podatke iz različnih virov kot so PIC (prometno informacijski center), URSZR (urad za zaščito in reševanje RS), MZIP-GU (geodetska uprava), ki jim po potrebi dodamo lokalne vire (MOK,MOL) v težnji po čim bolj informativnem, preglednem in učinkovitem sistemu za podporo med intervencijami. Aplikacija je rezultat projekta SOVZO, ki ga je v okviru programa TP MIR sofinancirala Javna agencija za tehnološki razvoj Republike Slovenije (TIA).
Naša aplikacija združuje podatke o cestah, lokacijah gasilskih vozil, hidrantov, cestnih zapor, razmerah v prometu, požarnih načrtih stavb, nevarnih snoveh in številu prebivalcev ter omogoča pregled teh podatkov na interaktivni mapi podprti s prostorskim informacijskim sistemom. Prednost aplikacije je med drugim upoštevanje aktualnih podatkov o zaporah cest, obremenjenosti cest in posebnih omejitev zaradi, na primer, tipa vozila pri navigaciji do kraja intervencije. Centrala spremlja vozila s pomočjo GPS/GPRS modulov vgrajenih na vozilih, ki poleg rednega (vsako sekundo) pošiljanja podatka o lokaciji vozila omogoča tudi komunikacijo med centralo in vozilom (npr. pošiljanje kraja intervencije).
Na seminarju bom predstavil programsko opremo, razvito posebej za učinkovito in natančno vodenje vozil na intervencijskih nalogah. Predstavljeni bodo oprema in protokol za komunikacijo med vozili in centralo, oprema na vozilu, prostorski informacijski sistem na katerem temelji aplikacija, osnove izvedbe navigacije in ključne funkcije aplikacije.

Povzetek:

Podjetje MondoKey (www.mondokey.com) se ukvarja z rešitvami s področja visoke varnosti. Pri razvoju prototipa je sodeloval tudi študent FAMNIT-a. Omenjene rešitve so bile razvite po t.i. ad-hoc principu kot odgovor povpraševanje trga. Zaradi hitrega razvoja ni bilo časa postaviti sodobno strukturo vodenja projektov, kar se je izkazal kot problem pri širitvi tima.

Cilj projektnega seminarja, ki ga bo predstavila skupina štirih študentov, je bil dokumentirati del razvitega sistema ter definirati smernice za integracijo že razvitega sistema s satelitskimi sistemi.

Bioinformatika DNA mikromrež

Tehnologija DNA mikromrež se je od sredine 90-ih prejšnjega stoletja pa do svojega današnjega zrelega obdobja skokovito razvijala. V najbolj običajni pojavni obliki gre za meritve izraženosti genov celotnega genoma nekega organizma, tako imenovano ekspresijsko profiliranje; druge oblike zajemajo analizo genomske DNA (komparativna genomska hibridizacija, študije enojnih nukleotidnih polimorfizmov, resekvenciranje) in študije uravnavanja izražanja genov (kromatinska imunoprecipitacija na čipu, mapiranje prepisov).

Sočasno (oz. z rahlo zamudo) so se razvijale tudi metode za obdelavo podatkov teh meritev, ki obsegajo analizo slik DNA mikromrež, normalizacijo in analizo pridobljenih podatkov, njihovo označevanje in shranjevanje ter ovrednotenje rezultatov. Vse te metode obravnavamo pod skupnim imenom bioinformatika DNA mikromrež; njihova poglavitna značilnost je obravnava velikega števila spremenljivk (reda velikosti 106 sond oz. 104 genov) na relativno majhnem vzorcu (reda velikosti 102 tkiv ali pacientov).

V predavanju bomo pregledali poglavitne koncepte bioinformatike DNA mikromrež, ki so relativno neodvisni od izbrane tehnološke platforme in preučevanega biološkega sistema. Začeli bomo pri načrtovanju poskusa, preskočili mokri del in nadaljevali pri računalniški obdelavi slik in procesiranju podatkov. Aplicirali bomo koncepte statističnega testiranja hipotez, nenadzorovanega in nadzorovanega strojnega učenja in zaključili s primerom odkrivanja zakonitosti v podatkih – slednje še vedno (oz. vedno znova) predstavlja velik raziskovalni izziv.

Naslov: Akustična klasifikacija morskega dna - hidrografske meritve


Povzetek:
Akustični podatki, pridobljeni s sonarskimi meritvami se že dolgo uporabljajo za določanje globin - batimetrijo. Naša hipoteza je, da se v teh podatkih skriva še mnogo več informacij o morskem dnu. S procesiranjem in analizo akustičnih podatkov bomo poskušali klasificirati dno slovenskega morja, torej določiti tipe kot so trava, mulj, kamni, pesek, itd. Osnova za dosego cilja so kvalitetni akustični
podatki, ki jih dobimo s hidrografskimi meritvami.
Na seminarju bo predstavljen oddelek za hidrografijo podjetja
Harpha Sea ter oprema in postopek opravljanja hidrografskih meritev.

Naslov: GRAFTED GENETIC ALGORITHM AND THE TRAVELING VISITOR PROBLEM
 

Abstract:

In this presentation, two related topics from theoretical computer science are considered.The first one considers Grafted Genetic Algorithms. The presentation analyzes separate, combined and partial performance of local searcher and genetic algorithm. On the Traveling Salesman Problem we examine the impact of hybridization a 2-opt heuristic based local searcher into the genetic algorithm. Genetic algorithm provides a diversification, while 2-opt improves intensification. Results on examples from TSPLIB show that this method combines good qualities from both methods applied and outperform each individual method. In tests we applied hybridization at various percentages of genetic algorithm iterations. On one side the less frequent application of hybridization decreased the average running time of the algorithm from 14.62 sec to 2.78 sec at 100% and 10% hybridization respectively, while on the other side the quality of solution on average deteriorated only from 0.21% till 1.40% worse than the optimal solution. We also studied at which iterations of the genetic algorithm to apply the hybridization. We applied it at random iterations, at the initial iterations, and the ending ones where the later proved to be the best.

The second topic considers the Traveling Visitor Problem. We consider the problem where visitors start from a hotel with desire to visit all interesting sites in a city exactly once and to come back to the hotel. Since, the visitors use streets and pedestrian zones, the goal is to minimize the visitor's traveling distance. This problem is similar to the Traveling Salesman Problem. The difference is that during visit, traveling visitors cannot fly over buildings in the city. Instead, they have to go around these obstacles. That means that all shortest distances, like those in Euclidean Traveling Salesman Problem, are not valid in this case. The tested benchmarks used come from three real instances made using tourist maps of cities of Venice, Belgrade and Koper and two modified instances from TSPLIB. We introduced and compared two methods for solving the Traveling Visitor Problem. In all tested cases, the Koper Algorithm
outperforms the Naive Algorithm for solving the Traveling Visitor Problem - quality of solutions differs from 6.52% to 354.46%.

Naslov: ESPResSo++: program za simulacije sistemov mehke snovi

Povzetek:
Prenovljeni Extensible simulation package for research on soft matter systems (ESPResSo++) je sodoben programski paket za izvajanje simulacij molekularne dinamike mehke snovi. Eden od glavnih ciljev pri razvoju programa je razširljivost, zaradi česar je jedro programa napisano modularno z uporabo objektno usmerjenega programiranja. Raziskovalci lahko ESPResSo++ uporabljajo kot raziskovalno okolje za razvoj in preizkušanje lastnih metodoloških pristopov.
Na predavanju bom predstavil program ESPResSo++, potek razvoja, organizacijo kode, način
paralelizacije ter nekaj preprostih primerov simulacij.

Naslov: PARALLEL-PROBIS: Hitri vzporedni algoritem za lokalno strukturno primerjavo proteinskih struktur in vezavnih mest

Povzetek:
Predstavili bomo nov vzporedni algoritem ProBiS za iskanje podobnih vezavnih mest na proteinih. S tem algoritmom računamo lokalne podobnosti med proteinskimi strukturami na gruči večprocesorskih računalnikov. Največje izboljšanje algoritma opazimo pri proteinih z okoli 600 aminokislinami. V tem primeru je pohitritev računanja za 180. Računanje porazdelimo med dve med seboj povezani gruči računalnikov skupaj z 248 računalniškimi jedri. Računalniški program Parallel ProBiS je za akademsko uporabo prosto dostopen na naslovu  http://probis.cmm.ki.si/download.

Naslov: Parallel Ant System

Povzetek:
We study the parallel case of the ant system algorithm solving the traveling salesman problem. Following series of recent results for the graphics processing unit model, we show that they translate to the parallel random access machine model. In addition, we introduce a novel method for updating the pheromone matrix without atomic instructions, which is an improvement over the currently best known non-atomic update method. As an immediate consequence, we give new asymptotic bounds for the parallel ant system. We also present an empirical comparison with the currently known approaches to pheromone matrix update. For the empirical study we implement our results on the graphics processing unit.

Naslov: Speeding up shortest path algorithms

Povzetek:
Given an arbitrary non-negatively weighted graph $G=(V,E)$ we present an algorithm that computes all pairs shortest paths in time $\mathcal{O}(m^* n + m \lg n + nT_\psi(m^*, n))$, where $m^*$ is the number of different edges contained in shortest paths and $T_\psi(m^*, n)$ is a running time of an algorithm to solve a single-source shortest path problem (SSSP). This is a substantial improvement over a trivial $n$ times application of $\psi$ that runs in $\mathcal{O}(nT_\psi(m,n))$. In our algorithm we use $\psi$ as a black box and hence any improvement on $\psi$ results also in improvement of our
algorithm.
Furthermore, a combination of our method, Johnson's reweighting technique, breadth-first search and topological sorting results in an $\mathcal{O}(m^*n + m \lg n)$ all-pairs shortest path algorithm for arbitrarily-weighted directed acyclic graphs.
In addition, we also point out a connection between the complexity of a certain sorting problem defined on shortest paths and SSSP.

Naslov: An ACObased framework for the integrated vehicle and crew scheduling problem in public transport

Povzetek:
Na seminarju bomo spoznali integriran problem razporejanja vozil ter določanja služb v javnem potniškem prometu. Predstavili bomo ogrodje za problem, kateri temelji na meta-hevristiki Ant Colony Optimization. Ogrodje kombinira meta-hevristične metode za problem razporejanja vozil ter določanja služb za reševanje integriranega problema. Na podlagi ogrodja smo razvili algoritem in ga primerjali s klasičnim, zaporednim, celoštevilskem postopku na realnih primerih.
Izkazalo se je, da čeprav naša metoda temelji na meta-hevrističnem
pristopu, ji je uspelo doseči rešitve boljše kakovosti v primerjavi z
optimalnimi rešitvami celoštevilskega postopka. Poleg tega bomo pokazali, da naša metoda lahko vedno najde boljše ali enako dobre rešitve kot zaporedna aplikacija uporabljenih metod za razporejanje vozil ter določanje služb.

Povzetek:
Na seminarju bo predstavljena naprava LIDAR, ki se lahko uporablja tudi za detekcijo in merjenje onesnaženosti v ozračju. Ogledali si bomo osnovno idejo lidarske meritve ter napravo, ki jo imamo na UP IAM. Na koncu bo predstavljenih nekaj osnovnih meritev.

Naslov: The Traveling Visitor Problem and Algorithms for Solving It
 

Povzetek:
We consider the problem when visitor wants to visit all interesting sites in a city exactly once and to come back to the hotel. Since, the visitors use streets, walking trails and pedestrian zones. The goal is to minimize the visitor’s traveling . A new problem the Traveling Visitor Problem (TVP) is then similar to the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) with a difference that the traveling visitors, during its visit of sites, can not fly over buildings in the city, instead visitors have to go around these obstacles. That means that all ”air” distances, like those in a TSP, are impossible in this case. The tested benchmarks are combined from three real instances made using tourist maps of cities of Koper, Belgrade and Venice and two instances of modified cases from TSPLIB. We compared two methods for solving the Traveling Visitor Problem. In all tested cases the Koper Algorithm significantly outperforms the Naive Algorithm for solving the Traveling Visitor Problem.

Naslov: Primerjava učinkovitosti med športnimi stavnicami

Povzetek:
Športne stave postajajo iz dneva v dan bolj popularne. Razlog za to je tudi razcvet spletnih stavnic. Predstavil bom primerjavo učinkovitosti med športnimi stavnicami. Stavnice smo primerjali glede na učinkovitost napovedovanja izidov nogometnih tekem nekaterih najmočnejših svetovnih lig - Italijanske Serie A, Angleške Premier League, Španske Primera Division in Nizozemske Eredivisie. Obravnavane tekme so bile odigrane med letoma 2004 in 2008.
Kvote stavnic smo uporabili kot napovedi izidov tekem in nato kvaliteto teh napovedi primerjali med stavnicami in med ligami.
