Wednesday, 30 July 2025 The SPOZNAJ project exhibition presents Slovenian open science.
Between July 29 and August 18, 2025, the SPOZNAJ project exhibition will be on display at the Mala loža in Koper, presenting open science to the wider public in an accessible and visually appealing way. It shows how open access to scientific content can encourage innovation, strengthen trust in science, and enable more informed social decisions. The exhibition was created as part of the SPOZNAJ project, which connects research organizations throughout Slovenia with the central goal of bringing science closer to people. Through diverse content and examples from the Slovenian research environment, it shows how open science works in practice – both within research institutions and in collaboration with local communities.
The exhibition also features a special presentation of the UP project Pro-Coast (PRO-COAST – A PROactive approach for COmmunities to enAble Societal Transformation), which is being carried out at UP FAMNIT. The aim of the project is to develop an operational framework based on social-ecological systems (SESF) to address complex socio-ecological issues related to the dynamics of coastal ecosystems and biodiversity loss.
The exhibition will move from Koper to Ljubljana, where it will be on display from September 1 to October 1 at Gallusovo nabrežje.
The aim of the SPOZNAJ project, of which UP is a part, is to introduce the principles of open science into scientific research work and to adapt the operations of twenty public research organizations and CTK in accordance with the principles of open science, which has numerous advantages - easier access to research results, greater transparency of research, better cooperation between researchers and institutions, and increased trust in science.
