Thursday, 14 November 2019 Giovanna Aronne: Reproductive ecology and conservation of the endangered Primula palinuri

We invite you to the lecture
»Reproductive ecology and conservation of the endangered Primula palinuri«,
by Giovanna Aronne.

The lecture will take place today,
on Thursday, November 14th, at 18:00
in classroom FAMNIT-VP2
(Glagoljaška 8).

Abstract

Primula palinuri is a narrowly endemic species that thrives in only a few locations along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in southern Italy. The species is endangered by various factors, such as the destruction of its habitat by the construction of facilities, mainly for tourism purposes, by the specimen collection in the most accessible sites. As for other Primula species, Primula palinuri is heterostylous so it has a complex reproductive cycle. The lecture will present the reproductive ecology and conservation of this rare and interesting species.
