UP FAMNIT Participates in Rosemary Research in Slovenian Istria

At the 14th Conference on Organic Farming, Alenka Baruca Arbeiter (UP FAMNIT) and Jana Bergant (BONISTRA Herb Farm) presented the activities of the Herb Group, which operates within the Consortium for Organic Farming of Slovenia (KEKS).

An important part of this collaboration is the developing rosemary collection plantation at BONISTRA, where researchers will monitor local plant material and selected chemotypes. They will study their growth and cultivation requirements, as well as the properties of the hydrosols and essential oils obtained from them. The findings will help inform the selection of plants according to their growing conditions, characteristics and intended use.

The collaboration brings together BONISTRA’s extensive practical experience and UP FAMNIT’s research expertise, highlighting the importance of herbs and Slovenian Istria for the development of organic farming.
