Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme, aimed at exceptional individuals with leadership potential from around the world. The scholarship provides full financial support for a one-year master’s degree in the UK, as well as access to a global network of leaders and decision-makers.

Over more than 40 years, the Chevening programme has received hundreds of thousands of applications worldwide. Since its establishment in 1983, more than 60,000 professionals have joined the Chevening alumni network.

Successful applicants are individuals who share a vision of a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future, and who can demonstrate leadership, influence, and networking skills through examples from their professional and personal lives.

As part of their application, candidates must explain how studying in the UK will enable them to gain the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to address global challenges, including promoting economic growth and prosperity, strengthening resilience to climate change, improving security and stability, and supporting the development of more inclusive and effective societies.

Paul O’Connor, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the British Embassy in Ljubljana, said:

“Chevening Scholarships are for ambitious and talented Slovenian citizens with strong leadership potential who want to contribute to positive change and help build a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future. Chevening Scholarships fully cover the costs of study, allowing you to focus entirely on your academic and professional development and make the most of your year in the United Kingdom. You will receive a world-class education, build an international network of contacts, experience life in the UK, and develop relationships that can last a lifetime. If you are ready to pursue a master’s degree in the UK and take the next step in your leadership journey, this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for!”
