Are you interested in studying or undertaking a traineeship abroad? Would you like to learn more about the opportunities offered by Erasmus+, or have you already participated in a mobility and would like to share your experience?

Join us for the Erasmus+ Day at UP FAMNIT, organised as part of the Europe-wide Erasmus Days initiative.

When? Monday, 12 October 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00

The event is intended for all UP FAMNIT students and staff who are considering studying, undertaking a traineeship, teaching or participating in training abroad, as well as anyone interested in other international opportunities available through Erasmus+.

Those who have already participated in an Erasmus+ mobility or are currently preparing for one are equally welcome. We would be happy to hear about your experiences and answer your questions about studying and living abroad.

The UP FAMNIT International Office will be available at the information point throughout the event to answer questions about mobility opportunities, application procedures, funding and other practical aspects of going abroad.

Feel free to stop by at any time between 10:00 and 15:00. We will be happy to help you find the international opportunity that suits you best.

The American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) has opened applications for the ASEF Research Abroad scholarship programme, designed for Slovenian students who wish to strengthen their research experience and academic exchange with international partners. Applications for the 2026 cohort are open until 29 October 2026.

The programme offers a two-year opportunity for talented students to connect with the global Slovenian academic network. Selected scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to undertake a 10-week research visit at one of the world’s leading universities or research institutions, including Stanford, Harvard and Princeton. They will work under the mentorship of distinguished Slovenian professors based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, selected European countries and Australia.

In addition to research activities, the programme offers extensive opportunities to become part of the broader ASEF community. Scholarship recipients will participate in various research projects and workshops, actively develop their careers, attend public lectures and other events, and gain opportunities for comprehensive personal and professional development.

An Additional Call for International Study Exchanges in the 2026/27 Academic Year under the Erasmus+ KA131 Programme has been published. The call supports student mobility for studies during the spring semester of 2026/27.

The application deadline is Monday, 12 October 2026, at 23:59.

The call is open to UP students who:

• are enrolled as full-time or part-time students in undergraduate or postgraduate study programmes at UP during the 2026/27 academic year;
• are enrolled in at least the second year of a bachelor’s study programme or at a higher study level.

How to apply?

1. Read the call and its annexes.

2. Consult the list of UP FAMNIT partner institutions available for your field of study and select three preferred institutions.

3. Prepare all required attachments: a CV, a motivation letter using the mandatory Annex 2 – Motivation Letter_Study template, and proof of foreign-language proficiency.

4. Submit the application and all required attachments through VIS/ŠIS.

You do not have to prepare for a study exchange on your own. The elective course Study Without Borders can support you along the way.

The course is intended for students considering a study exchange, as well as those wishing to strengthen their intercultural and communication skills, gain practical knowledge and broaden their horizons.

Applications are open until 5 October 2026 to students from all bachelor’s and master’s study programmes.

The course will be delivered in person, in English, during the second semester of the 2026/27 academic year at UP FHŠ. Students who successfully complete the course will receive 3 ECTS credits.

You will develop knowledge and skills in:

• Intercultural and multilingual communication and intercultural preparation;
• psychological preparation, responding to unfamiliar situations and seeking assistance;
• mobility programmes, relevant rules and European mechanisms;
• responding appropriately in crisis situations;
• practical preparation for international mobility, including arranging learning agreements, finding accommodation abroad and accessing other forms of support.

Pionirski dom – Center for Culture of Youth is an official examination centre for the international Cambridge English and DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) examinations. The examinations are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and provide internationally recognised proof of language proficiency.

Cambridge English examinations are available at the following levels:

• B2 First
• C1 Advanced
• C2 Proficiency

For Spanish, DELE examinations are available at levels A1–C2 and are issued by Instituto Cervantes.

An international language certificate can be useful when applying for study programmes abroad, participating in exchange programmes, research projects, conferences, summer schools and professional training, as well as when demonstrating language proficiency for employment and work in an international environment.

The examinations take place at the Pionirski dom premises in Ljubljana, and registration is available for individual candidates as well as groups.

Applications for the prestigious Chevening Scholarships, funded by the UK Government, are now open to Slovenian citizens wishing to pursue a master’s degree at a university in the United Kingdom.

The application deadline is 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC (13:00 local time).

Before submitting an application, candidates are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Chevening programme’s vision and review the guidance available on the Chevening website to assess their suitability.

Eligibility

• To apply for a Chevening Scholarship, candidates must:
  • Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for entry to a master’s programme in the UK.
  • Have at least two years of work experience gained after completing their undergraduate studies.
  • Commit to returning to Slovenia for a minimum of two years after completing the scholarship.

23 September is European Organic Farming Day, dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of organic production, sustainable management of natural resources, and connecting producers, experts and consumers.

To mark the occasion, a professional and practical event will take place at Bonistra on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, from 10:00 to 13:30. The event is intended for anyone interested in organic herb cultivation, the development of herb farms, and creating higher added value from herbs.

The event is aimed at existing and prospective herb growers, organic farms, as well as conventional farms considering a transition to organic production.

The programme will include presentations on:

• how medicinal and aromatic plants are organically cultivated at Bonistra,
• the activities of the Consortium for Organic Agriculture of Slovenia and the planned rosemary collection plantation in cooperation with UP FAMNIT,
• practical advice on specific challenges faced by herb farms – from cultivation and processing to product development, marketing and brand development.

A special part of the event will be dedicated to questions and specific examples submitted by registered participants, allowing the programme to be tailored as closely as possible to their actual needs.

The European project InnovPrecMed invites students to enroll in free online courses focused on the future of healthcare, innovation, and opportunities in this field.

Upon successful completion of a course, participants will receive an official certificate from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
