Nadun Liyanage is a doctoral researcher at University of Primorska – HICUP Lab. His work explores how immersive technologies can improve interactions in vehicles and transportation contexts, such as driver assistance, infotainment, and user experience in future mobility systems.

Title: Passenger Perception of Motion Under Visual Stimuli

Abstract:

This study investigates how different visual stimuli influence passengers’ perception of vehicle motion during real-world travel. Participants experienced controlled visual conditions through a head-mounted display while their perceived lateral motion was continuously recorded and compared with actual vehicle movement. The study explores how visual information alters motion perception, with implications for designing comfortable and immersive passenger experiences in future autonomous vehicles.
