Last week, three colleagues from the Department of Mathematics visited China on a research trip: the Rector of the University of Primorska, Professor Klavdija Kutnar, Assistant to the Rector Professor Dragan Marušič, and Professor Aleksander Malnič.
During their visit, they focused primarily on research collaboration, working with their Chinese colleagues to explore solutions to several well-known research problems. In addition, they delivered lectures for students at Beijing Jiaotong University and Henan Normal University.
As part of the visit, the Rector also met with Miloš Prislan, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Visa and Consular Section at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Beijing. Their discussion focused on the University of Primorska’s cooperation with partner institutions in the region and future staffing needs. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of Chinese language proficiency and translation expertise, areas in which the University of Primorska continues to develop and strengthen its approach each year.
