Join us for the Erasmus+ Day at UP FAMNIT, organised as part of the Europe-wide Erasmus Days initiative. When? Monday, 12 October 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00 Where? Galeb Lobby (Kettejeva 1), located close to the main UP FAMNIT building: The event is intended for all UP FAMNIT students and staff who are considering studying, undertaking a traineeship, teaching or participating in training abroad, as well as anyone interested in other international opportunities available through Erasmus+. Those who have already participated in an Erasmus+ mobility or are currently preparing for one are equally welcome. “Šeraj ljubezen, ne bolezen” (Share Love, Not the Virus) – HPV Vaccination for Students and Young Adults

We invite all young people up to the age of 26 who have not yet been vaccinated against HPV to join the Share Love, Not the Virus campaign. The campaign will take place on Monday, 12 October 2026, also at the Koper Community Health Centre and the Piran Community Health Centre, Lucija Unit in Portorož. An appointment is required for vaccination. Vaccination is free of charge for foreign students as well, up to the age of 26, provided they are covered by Slovenia’s compulsory health insurance. What do I need to know about HPV? HPV is a large group of viruses that can cause six types of cancer in both men and women. Cancers caused by HPV infections include cervical cancer, penile cancer, anal cancer, vaginal cancer, vulvar cancer, and oropharyngeal cancer. Around 200 people in Slovenia are diagnosed each year with cancers caused by HPV infections. HPV is transmitted through close skin-to-skin or mucous membrane contact, such as sexual intercourse (of any kind). However, even more intimate physical contact, such as kissing, cuddling, rubbing, or touching with the hands, can be enough for transmission. Using a condom does not completely prevent HPV infection. Since HPV infection often causes no symptoms, we may not even be aware that we have it and can unknowingly pass it on to others. ASEF Opens Applications for the 2027 Research Abroad Programme, Offering Slovenian Students a Global Research Experience

The American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) has opened applications for the ASEF Research Abroad scholarship programme, designed for Slovenian students who wish to strengthen their research experience and academic exchange with international partners. Applications for the 2026 cohort are open until 29 October 2026. The programme offers a two-year opportunity for talented students to connect with the global Slovenian academic network. Selected scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to undertake a 10-week research visit at one of the world’s leading universities or research institutions, including Stanford, Harvard and Princeton. They will work under the mentorship of distinguished Slovenian professors based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, selected European countries and Australia. In addition to research activities, the programme offers extensive opportunities to become part of the broader ASEF community. Study Without Borders: Preparing for an International Experience

You do not have to prepare for a study exchange on your own. The elective course Study Without Borders can support you along the way. The course is intended for students considering a study exchange, as well as those wishing to strengthen their intercultural and communication skills, gain practical knowledge and broaden their horizons. Applications are open until 5 October 2026 to students from all bachelor’s and master’s study programmes. The course will be delivered in person, in English, during the second semester of the 2026/27 academic year at UP FHŠ. Students who successfully complete the course will receive 3 ECTS credits. International Language Certificates: Cambridge English and DELE

Pionirski dom – Center for Culture of Youth is an official examination centre for the international Cambridge English and DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) examinations. The examinations are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and provide internationally recognised proof of language proficiency. Cambridge English examinations are available at the following levels: For Spanish, DELE examinations are available at levels A1–C2 and are issued by Instituto Cervantes. An international language certificate can be useful when applying for study programmes abroad, participating in exchange programmes, research projects, conferences, summer schools and professional training, as well as when demonstrating language proficiency for employment and work in an international environment. The examinations take place at the Pionirski dom premises in Ljubljana, and registration is available for individual candidates as well as groups.
