Are you interested in studying or undertaking a traineeship abroad? Would you like to learn more about the opportunities offered by Erasmus+, or have you already participated in a mobility and would like to share your experience? Join us for the Erasmus+ Day at UP FAMNIT, organised as part of the Europe-wide Erasmus Days initiative. When? Monday, 12 October 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00 Where? Galeb Lobby (Kettejeva 1), located close to the main UP FAMNIT building: The event is intended for all UP FAMNIT students and staff who are considering studying, undertaking a traineeship, teaching or participating in training abroad, as well as anyone interested in other international opportunities available through Erasmus+. Those who have already participated in an Erasmus+ mobility or are currently preparing for one are equally welcome. We would be happy to hear about your experiences and answer your questions about studying and living abroad. The UP FAMNIT International Office will be available at the information point throughout the event to answer questions about mobility opportunities, application procedures, funding and other practical aspects of going abroad. An Additional Call for International Study Exchanges in the 2026/27 Academic Year under the Erasmus+ KA131 Programme has been published. The call supports student mobility for studies during the spring semester of 2026/27. The application deadline is Monday, 12 October 2026, at 23:59. The call is open to UP students who: How to apply? 1. Read the call and its annexes. 2. Consult the list of UP FAMNIT partner institutions available for your field of study and select three preferred institutions. 3. Study Without Borders: Preparing for an International Experience

You do not have to prepare for a study exchange on your own. The elective course Study Without Borders can support you along the way. The course is intended for students considering a study exchange, as well as those wishing to strengthen their intercultural and communication skills, gain practical knowledge and broaden their horizons. Applications are open until 5 October 2026 to students from all bachelor’s and master’s study programmes. The course will be delivered in person, in English, during the second semester of the 2026/27 academic year at UP FHŠ. Students who successfully complete the course will receive 3 ECTS credits. Erasmus+ Call for Staff Mobility for Teaching for the 2026/27 Academic Year Now Open

The University of Primorska has published a new Erasmus+ KA131 Call for Staff Mobility for Teaching for the 2026/27 academic year. A total of 5 mobility places are available for UP FAMNIT and UP IAM staff members. The programme offers staff members the opportunity to teach at partner higher education institutions abroad, exchange expertise and good practices, develop new teaching and digital skills, and strengthen cooperation with colleagues and partner institutions abroad. Application deadline: 5 October 2026Deadline for completing the mobility: 30 September 2027 Who can apply? The call is open to University of Primorska employees employed at UP on a fixed-term or permanent contract, full-time or part-time. Applicants must have an active command of English or the host country’s language. Mobility must take place at a higher education institution with which UP or the respective UP faculty has a valid Erasmus+ bilateral agreement. The physical mobility period may last from a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 2 months, excluding travel days. Teaching activities must generally comprise at least 8 teaching hours per week, or per shorter mobility period. Teaching may also be combined with a training activity. In this case, the minimum teaching requirement is reduced to 4 hours. Mobility funding Selected candidates are eligible for Erasmus+ funding to contribute towards travel and subsistence costs. Under this call, subsistence funding is limited to a maximum of 4 mobility days and up to 2 travel days. The amount of individual support depends on the host country. Travel support is determined according to the distance to the destination. The Erasmus+ programme also encourages green travel, such as travelling by train, bus or carpooling. In such cases, participants may be eligible for higher travel support and up to four additional funded travel days. How to apply Applications must be submitted electronically via VIS in two steps: Applicants must also submit a proposed Mobility Agreement for Staff Mobility for Teaching in English. The Mobility Agreement does not need to be signed at the application stage. The deadline for submitting a complete online application is Monday, 5 October 2026. Mobility within Transform4Europe UP particularly encourages staff members to undertake mobility at partner institutions of the Transform4Europe (T4EU) European University Alliance. Erasmus+ mobility can also be combined with mobility opportunities offered through T4EU calls, including the T4EU Chair Programme, provided that the same mobility costs are not funded from two different sources. Third Joint Call for T4EU Visiting Professorships

University of Primorska and University of Trieste invite academics from around the world to teach, collaborate and conduct research at both universities in 2026/27 The University of Primorska (UP) and the University of Trieste (UniTS) have launched the third joint call for Visiting Professorships within the Transform4Europe (T4EU) European University Alliance. The initiative offers academics from research institutions outside the T4EU Alliance an opportunity to spend time at both universities, contributing to teaching, research and international academic collaboration. Connecting expertise across universities The call is open to full, associate and assistant professors, or individuals holding equivalent positions at foreign research institutions. Visiting professors will contribute to existing bachelor’s, master’s, specialisation or doctoral programmes and work with academic colleagues at the host departments. A visiting professorship will in principle last 20 days, divided equally between the University of Primorska and the University of Trieste, and must be completed by 30 June 2027. Alongside teaching, visiting professors are expected to participate in research activities in collaboration with their host departments.The programme welcomes collaboration across a broad range of disciplines, including economics and management, humanities, education, artificial intelligence and data science, mathematics, biology and biotechnology, genomics and neuroscience, psychology, and health sciences.Proposed activities should contribute to one or more of the three T4EU transformation areas: How to apply Applications are submitted jointly by the relevant departments/faculties of the University of Primorska and the University of Trieste and must include a programme of the proposed visit and teaching activities. Opportunity: Summer School at Saarland University

An interdisciplinary summer school on Quantum Information Theory will take place at Saarland University. It is aimed at advanced undergraduate (Bachelor’s) students in mathematics, computer science, and physics who are interested in research at the intersection of these disciplines. The summer school will be organized in cooperation with the Transform4Europe (T4EU) Alliance. Of the approximately 50 available places, 15 will be reserved for students from universities that are part of the T4EU Alliance. Students from T4EU member universities can receive financial support for travel expenses of up to EUR 200. Scholarships for Western Balkan Students for Master’s Studies in Slovenia

The Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia has published a call for scholarships for foreign nationals pursuing Master’s studies in Slovenia in the 2026/27 academic year. The scholarships are available to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia who will pursue postgraduate Master’s studies in Slovenia in one of the eligible fields covered by the call. Eligible study fields include natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, and information and communication technologies (ICT), making this opportunity particularly relevant for prospective Master’s students at UP FAMNIT. What does the scholarship offer? Successful applicants may receive a scholarship for living expenses amounting to EUR 9,600 per year. Application deadline: 2 September 2026. By the application deadline, applicants must have either temporary residence registered in the Republic of Slovenia or a valid power of attorney granted to a person residing in Slovenia. The University of Primorska, in cooperation with the University of Trieste, organised the first T4EU Week (Transform4Europe Week: Beyond Borders), in the new series of European University Transform4Europe Weeks, from 20 to 24 May 2024. On the first day, 20 May, the World Bee Day proposed by Slovenia, UP and UNITS welcomed the participants with special gifts – Slovenian honey prepared by UP, produced by our employees, and UNITS coffee. In this way, they showed the special nature of the surroundings with their cuisine and presented the guests with sustainable gifts. The first part of the programme then took place in Trieste from 19 to 22 May, followed by a visit to UP, Koper and Izola from Wednesday 22 to 24 May. The programme was divided into break-out sessions dealing with the importance of entrepreneurial skills and the environmental, digital and social transition. In this context, particularly in the context of the Research section: Open Science, Fair Data and Creative Commons, Pecha Kucha and Bridging Communities: Dialogue and Action for Inclusive Futures. Of particular importance was the satellite conference of the Rectors’ Conference of the RS on Friday on the Internationalisation of higher education and the role of European universities in this process. The T4EU week is also a great opportunity for networking and making new contacts among the participants. This was evident at the dinners and lunches as well as during the SportUP activities on the beaches of Koper, the social activities organised by ESN Primorska, a morning literary walk, a healthy breakfast and other activities. On the occasion of the T4EU week, the InnoRenew CoE research institute also installed special benches on the terrace next to the Rectorate – the wood for them was sourced from known locations in Slovenian forests, and the design and production was done entirely in cooperation with the institute and UP maintenance staff. The Institute has also prepared a special baton that will accompany the weeks across Europe, as each university will hang a leaflet on the wooden tree and pass it on after the organised week. We look forward to continuing to go beyond borders and extend our strong European commitment to partners who want to change the environment for a better future.

he University of Primorska, in cooperation with the University of Trieste, is organizing a T4EU Week (Transfor4Europe Week: Beyond Borders), from 20 to 24 May 2024. The main goal of the event is networking, exchange of views, experiences, knowledge and cooperation between students and staff from all 11 partner universities. The first part of the T4EU Week program will take place in Trieste from 19 to 22 May and will then move to Koper, UP, from Wednesday 22 to 24 May. Bringing together the two border universities that are members of the T4EU alliance in a joint week-long program will offer a diverse range of events that will take place every day from morning to late evening. The program is divided into streams, which address the importance of entrepreneurial skills and environmental, digital and social change. It is tailored to students at all levels as well as researchers and other staff. Lectures for T4EU higher education students follow a hybrid BIP (Blended Intensive Program) scheme that includes some online and 20 face-to-face classroom hours. Participants have the opportunity to earn 3 ICT after the lectures.
